The symbol of the Martinist Order, known most commonly as the “Martinist Pentacle.” The components are a Seal of Solomon, representing the Old Testament, a cross, representing the New Testament, and a circle, which represents the gnostic Ouroboros. The
Order, a nineteenth century mystical order founded by mystic Gerard
Encausse (Known better by his nom de plume, “Papus.”) and based on the
teachings of eighteenth century philosopher Louis Claude de
Saint-Martin. The order is a Kabbalistic initiatory system which has been recently revived.
